About Myself & This Blog
When I was five months pregnant I read an article about the harmful use of BPA and phthalates in products. The article explained how pregnant women should take special care to avoid these chemicals for the health of their babies. I started to look for BPA-free and phthalate-free shampoo, body wash, and lotion. It was not any easy task finding these products in my area but I learned what to look for and found safer options.
When my son was born (now two) I continued to use safer products. I made finding organic items for my son, my husband, and myself a priority. I started working on switching over our products one by one. Every time we would run out of a product I would then replace it with a safer one. I changed our products one by one due to both cost and what I could find at the moment.
As I searched the Internet for safer products I found that it was very time-consuming. I researched and researched to find BPA-free and phthalate-free items. Searching was almost exhausting. When I started to find good products I thought that I would share these items with other parents. I wanted to make it easier for others to find safer/greener products without having to do hours of research. I decided I would start my own blog and share my findings. I also decided to write about what I call Other Tidbits. These posts are about topics such as being a mother, family relationships, blog friends, etc. I hope you'll stick around and find something good to read.
