Equal Exchange Fundraiser Information & Chocolate Giveaway (***CLOSED***)

8:20 PM Posted by Mommy Is Green

If you've never heard of Equal Exchange before, they are a worker-owned co-op that is based in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Their products include fairly traded and organic coffee, tea, chocolate and snacks from farmers all over the world, including the United States. They also support family farms that use organic methods rather than industrialized agribusinesses that rely on harmful chemicals.

Equal Exchange offers a great Organic & Fair Trade Fundraiser. It can help schools to raise money while teaching children the value of fair trade and sustainability. The fundraiser features organic and fairly traded coffees, teas, cocoas, nut & berries, chocolate, and handmade gift wrap (tree-free) from Equal Exchange. It also includes gifts for the home from Ten Thousand Villages. I've often looked through fundraiser catalogs with difficulty finding items that I truly would want. I definitely don't buy anything that would collect dust like knick knacks and I steer clear of food/candy items that contain artificial flavors and corn syrup. That's why I think the Equal Exchange Organic & Fair Trade Fundraiser would be a better alternative to traditional fundraising products.

In addition, Equal Exchange offers FREE educational materials with their fundraiser. These materials help teachers to delve deeper into the issues surrounding fair trade and cooperative economics. This is a great opportunity for students to really learn while raising money for their schools.

If you are interested in finding out more about Equal Exchange's fundraising program, you can sign up to receive a FREE informational packet in the mail. The packet includes information about Equal Exchange's fundraiser, including pricing and profit margin, a sample catalog and steps for getting started. The fundraiser works as either an event and/or catalog sale. So be sure to get your free informaton packet for more details.

(I can personally say that Equal Exchange's chocolate and coffee are delicious! I especially love their dark chocolate. Read my review of their chocolate and coffee.)

Love that it involves so many from kids to adults; promotes fair trade (of course) and for the kids to participate in the pen pal exchange. The kids learn communication, involvement and fair trade practices and all things that matter and will help them throughout their lives.

I love that they offer tours. What a neat idea! I also love that this is a MUCH better alternative to those awful expensive wrapping paper and cookie dough sales. This is so much more thoughtful and can really help teach the kids something other than greed.

I love that "for every $1.00 Equal Exchange receives through their product sales, over 97 cents goes back out". So not only is the fundraiser benefiting your school, church, etc., but the fair trade community benefits as well.

I LOVE Equal Exchange! I've been a fan for 10 years now since I first learned of them when I worked for TransFair USA, the Fair Trade certifying body. No only are they about as sustainable as you can get, but their coffee is awesome! My favorite travel mug is my Equal Exchange mug.

I love that they are doing fundraising now! I've long been frustrated that so many school fundraisers sell products that are loaded with corn syrup, palm oil, etc or are wrapping papers from virgin trees and loaded with dyes. I'm totally telling my daughter's preschool coop about this fundraising opportunity. And, it's a great way to educate parents, kids & the community as well!
