Franklin Goose: ImagiPlay Rolling Snail Sorter Review & Giveaway (***CLOSED***)

When it comes to toys for my son, I am very specific about the purchases I make. Safety comes first and I do my homework before buying any toy. I can't say that this research isn't time consuming though. That's why I'm glad there is a company like Franklin Goose. Franklin Goose is one of the rare companies that does all of the research for you. Besides toys, they also offer cloth diapers, feeding products, furniture, clothing, books, bath products, etc. My favorite part of their site is the toys because that's the area where I need the most help finding safer items, but their other products are very appealing as well.
Here are some details regarding the safety of what Franklin Goose has to offer (from FranklinGoose.com):
Feeding products that do not contain BPA, Phthalate or PVC. And we only offer organic food items.
Toys & Activity products that are natural, organic, or made of recycled materials. Paint is lead free. And we carry no electronic or synthetic toys.
Health products contain no synthetic fillers, preservatives, heavy metals, dyes, parabens, DEA, TEA, DMDM, benzonates, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, toluenes, phthalates, triclosan, quaternium 15, or nitrates. No animals can be harmed during testing of these products.
Clothing items are made of organic or natural materials and contain no artificial colors. Some diapers may contain polyester, which helps prevent leaks and keeps your baby more comfortable.
Diapers are organic, natural, biodegradable, or made from recycled materials.
Furniture products contain no lead, phthalates, formaldehydes, or unnatural fire-retardants. Only natural materials are used for our furniture items.
Cleaning & Laundry supplies will contain no bleach, no synthetic fragrances, no phosophourus, and no phthalates. Chemicals are natural or closely related as possible.
Something I'm very pleased about regarding Franklin Goose (besides the safety aspect of course) is that most items ship for $5! I'll be honest. I don't like paying a lot for shipping. If I feel the shipping on an item is too expensive, most of the time I will not make the purchase and I will search for a product alternative. Since Franklin Goose offers a great price on shipping, I'll save myself some time and order the products I want straight from their site.
When I saw the ImagiPlay Rolling Snail Sorter on Franklin Goose's site I just had to have it for my son. I thought he'd really like this toy but I didn't know how much he would truly love it. When it first arrived he played with the Snail Sorter for two straight hours! As a toddler, he doesn't usually play with the same item for too long. I was in awe. On top of that, he wouldn't go to sleep that night without the Snail Sorter either. After he fell asleep for a while I put the toy away. He woke up, found the Rolling Snail Sorter, then went to back to sleep. I don't think it would be very comfortable to sleep with a wooden toy but apparently my son doesn't mind.
I don't think I've seen a toy with more ways to play than the ImagiPlay Rolling Snail Sorter. First, my son pulls the toy around by itself without the shape sorter on it's back. Second, he pulls it around with the shape sorter on top of the snail and listens to the blocks clack. Third, he takes off the snail shell and fits the shapes into the holes. And last, he opens the shape sorter shell, takes the blocks out and then puts them back in again. My son even uses the toy like a toy car by rolling the snail up the wall. He has found so many ways to play with this toy. No wonder it keeps his attention!There is one thing I don't like about the toy though. The door to the snail shell doesn't always stay on. But if that's the only issue I can live with that. It really doesn't take that much away from the toy in general. I'd still give the toy a rating of 4.75 out of 5 stars.
My son also tried the Clementine Art Natural Soy Crayon Rocks. He loves to color and I wanted safer crayons made without petroleum-based wax and that contained no chemical dyes or additives. The crayon rocks were exactly what I was looking for. The colors are vibrant and they are perfect for little hands. My son likes me to color with him sometimes so I had the pleasure of checking these crayons out myself. Boy, are these crayon rocks fun! We will be getting them again.WIN IT!!!
