Seventh Generation Free & Clear Starter Kit Giveaway (***CLOSED***)

I absolutely love Seventh Generation and I'll tell you the top reason why. It's their voluntary disclosure of all ingredients. I like them for so much more but that's one of the main reasons I'm attracted to their products. If you go to their web site and check out any of their products you can view the ingredient list for each one. They are very open. The second thing I like about Seventh Generation is that they have a Free & Clear line (free of fragrances, dyes, and masking agents). When it comes to laundry detergent and fabric softener I especially prefer free & clear items since my son has sensitive skin. I also only use free & clear products for dish washing when it comes to my son's sippy cups, spoons, etc. I believe less is more in that area.
I was fortunate enough to be able to try the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Starter Kit:

Reusable ToteHere are some highlights of my experience with the Free & Clear Kit --
I've been using the Free & Clear Natural Dish Liquid for the past year. It is fantastic! Beyond dishes, I've also used the dish liquid for cleaning my son's toys. I put a tiny amount of the dish liquid in a large bowl and fill the bowl up with warm water. I then dip a cloth in the water and wipe down the toys. If there are toys that can be submersed in water I wash them as I would dishes. In the past I used the dish liquid for cleaning the high chair tray too, but now I have the Free & Clear Natural All Purpose Cleaner for that.
Everything else in the kit, besides the dish liquid, I was new to trying. I'm now a huge fan of the Free & Clear Automatic Dishwasher Pacs. They are chlorine and phosphate free. I never used dishwasher pacs before so this was a first. My husband wasn't sure how our very old dishwasher would take to them, but it was no problem at all. I will definitely use the pacs again over the liquid.
I couldn't wait to use the Free & Clear Natural 2X Concentrated Laundry Detergent and the Free & Clear Natural Fabric Softener (both are free of phosphates and optical brighteners). It's very important for me to use natural laundry detergent. We wear clothes all day long. It's constant contact so I was thrilled to try the laundry detergent. I'm very happy with it. My mind is at ease now that I know exactly what is in my laundry detergent thanks to Seventh Generation's voluntary disclosure. Same with the fabric softener. I wasn't even using fabric softener before. Everyone else's towels always seemed so much softer but I couldn't bring myself to load mine up with harsh chemicals. Now my towels have a chance.
I also had the opportunity to try Seventh Generation's Disinfecting Line. The disinfecting line uses thymol, a component of thyme oil, to kill harmful germs. Since I despise bleach and other harmful chemicals used to disinfect I'm thrilled for an alternative. It's nice to know there is a safer choice.Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner: My husband often seals our meat in vacuum bags for freezing. The process is not always neat so the Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner is great. I really like how the cleaner sprays out too. It sprays wide and thin to cover a good, even amount of area.
Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner: Although disinfectants don't need to be used on a daily basis, the bathroom is one area people like to disinfect more often. If I'm going to disinfect the bathroom, I'd rather use this botanical blend instead.
Disinfecting Wipes: I use the Disinfecting Wipes the most for doorknobs and light switches. I especially think it's important to clean the doorknob on the front door. That's where we bring in all the germs from outside. With H1N1 and cold & flu season it makes sense to disinfect a little. I still think the best defense is washing your hands but sometimes we need a little extra help.

I would love to try the wipes! I use wipes on everything because they are so quick and easy. But I can't use them on anything the baby could put in her mouth because I worry about chemicals. I would love to start using "green" products... but they are a little expensive :(
