Quo Vadis Equology Planner Review

Even though I am a stay-at-home-mom, I've come to the conclusion that I need more organization. I've wanted to plan my cleaning schedule better and be more efficient. I've also wanted to break down what I do each day as a blogger. Plus, I recently missed a doctor's appointment because I've had so much going on. Each week I want to know what I have planned. Whether it is taking the time to donate items I no longer need or getting my hair cut, I need to know what's happening and when it's happening.
Some people use their cell phone or some kind of electronic way to keep track of their schedule. But I'm the kind of person that needs to see it in print. Because I prefer a tangible schedule I've been using the Quo Vadis Equology Planner:
- Made with 100% post consumer waste recycled paper

- Certified EcoLogo, chlorine-free and FSC recycled paper
- Flexible, durable, chlorine-free cover with a lightly textured rubber feel
- Manufactured using biogas energy
- Alkaline/neutral paper
- Refillable
Usually, my issue with planners is finding my place again. I normally have to use a paper clip to hold my spot. But this planner has perforated tabs on the bottom you can tear off to help you find the present week. The Scholar (weekly) version that I have contains maps, a two-page annual view, and a detachable address book.
The Equology planner also has a removable cover so you can refill it every year. The only information Quo Vadis releases about the cover material is that it is made from a type of plastic. Since I don't know the specific plastic it's made from I'm using my planner without the cover but it still works well for my needs.
The Quo Vadis Equology planner is perfect for keeping track of my schedule. It allows me to concentrate on one week at a time without getting ahead of myself or overwhelmed. I also like knowing that I'm not going to miss an appointment. A planner with paper made from 100% recycled paper is definitely the way to go!

I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post. I was provided with the product mentioned above at no cost for review. The opinions expressed here are my own. Please see Terms of Use for more information.

Thanks for the review. I love planners, notebooks, etc. They're handy to have to keep track of everything.

What a great planner! I'm with you on needing to see things written down as well, it just makes it easier to be sure you're not missing anything.

I use the Equology President and too have wondered what kind of plastic the cover is made of. I must have asked this question 5 times now and always get no or a vague reply. This is what I was told a few days ago by quovadis.ca, after asking them whether it contains PVC or another form of vinyl:
"We asked our manufacture of this product, and this is the answer we got
The product is 100% coagulated PU’s (polyurethanes) on a non woven support."
It remains a mystery whether it contains vinyl...
Since I love the planner, I will buy it again but this time as a refill without a cover.

@Christine Thank you for this information! I thought it seemed more like a rubber to me rather than vinyl but you never know, right? And if you don't get any true answers it doesn't help. You certainly were able to find out more than I was. I don't know what the non woven support part means. Do you? Thanks again for stopping by with this!

@Christine I looked at the President cover and now I see what they mean by non woven. I was confused because I was thinking of the Equology cover. Lol!

Here is my irritating dialogue (from my emails) with the CDN distributor of Quo Vadis:
Hi :
For the product Equology it is not the cover that is Equology it is the appointment book (diary). ?For your question does it contain vinyl; yes, it does.

Hi Carole,
after watching the documentary "Blue Vinyl" this information is not completely helpful.
Do Equology covers contain VINYL or not? What is the "non-woven support"? Why am I not receiving an answer to this simple question?
At this point I wonder why I am trying so hard buying your product when perhaps I should simply buy from a company with clear answers as to what they produce.

Hi Christine :
We asked our manufacture of this product, and this is the answer we got
The product is 100% coagulated PU’s (polyurethanes) on a non woven support
Hopefully this will be helpful.

Hello,
thank you for your reply. However, what are "artificial leathers"? What MATERIAL does the PU actually coat?
I don't know why there is such mystery around this cover. I have asked Execlair several times, and even for my President review did I not receive an answer to the simple question what material(s) the Equology covers are made of. I appreciate that you answered at all, but I'd be happier if you were more specific. Is the "leather" made of vinyl?

Hi Christine:
Thank you for your interest in our product.
The covers are nonwovens based, polyurethane coated artificial leathers.

Hello, I'm using the Equology President and am wondering what substance the cover is actually made of. Is it PVC or another type of vinyl? Please tell me what it is exactly. I wish the website stated this as well. Thank you, Christine

To anyone in Toronto:
I'm collecting QUO VADIS planner covers in any condition in order to return them to the company in France to make a point against the manufacture, use, and disposal of PVC.
I've so far been unsuccessful in buying a recycled REFILL of their Equology line in Toronto. Buying a recycled Minister-planner REFILL online through the CDN distributor would cost $5 more than buying one WITH A PVC COVER in a local store (so far I know of only 1 store that carries the Equology Minister: Midoko. All Grand&Toy stores carry only the Equology President, but NOT as refills).
Anyone willing to give me their covers can email me at starbowlnightsky@yahoo.ca
