Maia's Mineral Galaxy Makeup Review

8:43 AM Posted by Mommy Is Green

When choosing mineral makeup I look for certain things. I like the makeup to be free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, artificial colors and flavors, and nano-particles. The list is longer than that but those are just some of the things I start with. Over the last few months I've spent an enormous amount of time looking at the ingredient lists of different mineral makeup companies. One company I really like is Maia's Mineral Galaxy.

The product that first attracted me to Maia's Mineral Galaxy was their Cream Foundation (see my review). I also liked that they offer an eye liner pencil because I find applying loose powder liners to be very time-consuming (for me anyway). In addition, they have lots of choices for eye shadow which I appreciate - both in color and in form.

My favorite is loose powder eye shadow but I know that some people are trying to avoid loose minerals and prefer a pressed shadow. Maia's Mineral Galaxy uses non-micronized minerals though if you do like loose powder makeup. For those of you who prefer pressed shadow, they come in a compact for convenience. I received the color Smashing Hit to try. This is an absolutely beautiful shade for my skin tone. I'm definitely adding this color to my palette.

They also offer eye shadow pencils. I find these are great for using as a base and for blending colors. I use the White Pearl Shadow Pencil under my loose Pearly Pink Shadow to make it pop. It's wonderful for right under my brow.

As far as cheek color goes, I adore the Rose Bud Blush. It's very smooth and has a light feel. Sometimes when I've put on blush in past I've had to wipe some off with a cotton ball because the color was too much for my light skin tone. A little bit of the Rose Bud Blush is all I need and I'm good to go. There's no need to wipe any off.

I haven't worn lipstick in a while but the Paradise Pink Lipstick is amazing! The moment I put it on my husband saw me and I received a compliment. I wasn't wearing any other makeup at the time and he still told me how pretty I looked. For a day look I brush some of the Pearly Pink Shadow over the lipstick to lighten it up, and for a night look I leave it as is. It stays on well and doesn't have the terrible fragrance or taste that traditional lipsticks have.

To go along with my cream foundation I started using the Liquid Primer in Egg Shell. I apply it before my foundation and it helps to give a little extra coverage. I have never used a primer before so this was something new for me. I have to say that I like it.

Bronzer is great to have in your makeup bag. Especially if you don't spend a lot of time in the sun. I don't, so it's nice to have a good bronzer. The Perfect Feel Bronzer is very light. It's not overpowering at all and that's what I like about it so much. It's extremely nice for a lighter skin tone. If you have a darker skin tone you'll want to check out the Ultimate Feel Bronzer.

Maia's Mineral Galaxy products are made fresh when ordered. They have great customer service and that's something I really appreciate! I've been a customer of theirs since before I received any products for review. They always answer my questions within a timely manner and are very friendly.
I'm glad I found them on my search for safer cosmetics!

I think I need some makeup application lessons from you! :) These products sound amazing though and how sweet of your husband to point out how pretty you looked with the lipstick!

I know it's natural, but I still haven't had the guts to try mineral makeup...

I usually use bronzer as blush.. I like it better and it looks more natural, I just apply it to the areas of my face "touched by the sun" and it gives you a very nice glow!

Hi, I have purchased Maia Mineral Galaxy Black Mascara. I was well exited and happy I have found natural product, since there are not many producers providing natural mascara. My enthusiasm perished after I have tried it. It is difficult to apply since mascara does not stick to the lashes but even if you manage this step you will soon find out that the paste never dries. Unless you are a mummy and never blink you eyes, you will always fear it will give you a panda look. I am so dissapointed. Customer service did not want to refund since I wrote after three months from purchase. I guess they have their point. They admitted that it take a long time for natural products to dry. However this information is nowhere to find on the website and it is essential for the customers to know before purchase. I have sent my review to the producer but it never appeared on the website. There is only one review, obviously positive. Unless they modify the formula it is a total waste of money. I used product tree times and I had more stress wearing it then pleasure. Perhaps other products are good, but mascara is a total failure.
